As it seems to be all the rage these days, I have decided to take the bull by the horns and produce a website for my Miniature Lops (Holland Lops - USA, Nederlandse Hangoor Dwerg - Holland and Zwerg Widder - Germany). On here I hope to give you an insight into what makes me tick. My likes, dislikes and anything rabbity that I can think of that would be of some help to new and seasoned fanciers alike. Lets face it. We all have a love of these delightfull little lops, so why not share it with everyone. The Miniature Lop here at Ruskin is bred in one main colour. Red Eyed White. But over the years I have used coloured animals to either improve type or coat. Only one coloured is here at Ruskin right now and that is a sooty buck, but as this colour is one I have always loved there will hopefully be more of those real soon. I am pictured sitting on the bonnet of my jeep holding Foxtwist Paddy at Ruskin, a Blue Otter Miniature Lop buck from Brian & Mary Philpotts; who is the father of my own Ruskin's Prada (REW doe)
I am a National Panel judge to the following Lop Rabbit Clubs: The National Miniature Lop Club, The National French & Dwarf Lop Club, The National Cashmere Lop Club, The National English Lop Club and the National German Lop Club and judge these breeds at the highest level of competition in the UK and also abroad. The Picture is of me judging Cashmere Lops at 'Bradford Championship Show' 1999, The Rabbit equivalent to CRUFTS and the British equivalent to Convention......
Ruskin Miniature Lops are now back home and resident in the north of the Lake District in Carlisle. The whole stud along with hutches and shed have been moved and what a nightmare that was. The rabbits have moved too without too many problems and the does are now starting to drop litters very well. I think it must be something in the air up here but they seem to be having bigger litters also. The glorious weather has enabled them to have the door open virtually 24/7 as when in Manchester, both the location and the weather never permitted this so the rabbits are truly enjoying being up here.
My local rabbit club is once again Carlisle & District RC and they have a fantastic new venue which has some superb facilities and also great parking. The last couple of shows have been a great success and i am looking forward to taking a more active role within the club now that I am back home. Anyone wishing to contact me can do so by clicking on the email link below.
Well thats enough on this page. I hope you enjoy your visit to my site and have an easy ride round. I know quite a few of you out there who have a very bad sense of direction but I hope that I have made it easy for you to navigate your way around this show case...........have fun, keep Loppiting and see you at the shows.
